The hub sits on the North Sea–Mediterranean TEN-T corridor and is part of MACBETH, an initiative funded by the European Union to speed up development and rollout of Megawatt Charging System (MCS) technology for heavy-duty electric trucks. The site's other four bays have CCS chargesers up to 400 kW. Ad hoc charging starts at €0.379 per kWh excluding VAT for both CCS and MCS, with volume-based agreements available. The opening marks another step in the development of a reliable European charging network for electric vehicles.
