LA’s top federal prosecutor scorches California after noncitizen voters battle
Los Angeles’ top federal prosecutor has warned the upcoming midterm elections are under serious risk of being “corrupted” in California. Los Angeles' top federal prosecutor, Bill Essayli, has warned that California's upcoming midterm elections could be "corrupted" due to noncitizen votes already being counted across the state. This comes after an extraordinary court hearing between the Department of Justice and California over 20,000 voters whom the federal government claims are noncitizens. The DOJ has demanded these votes be set aside, while California officials argue that the federal Government has no right to intervene when the election is already underway. The hearing, which adjourned without a ruling, renewed calls for voter ID in California's elections.
