James Worthy lays out the blueprint to JJ Redick for the Lakers' title hopes
Worthy believes defense is the Lakers' path to a title. James Worthy, a seven-time All-Star and current Los Angeles Lakers' studio analyst, has advised head coach JJ Redick to create a defensive identity for the team. Despite a strong start to the season with Luka Doncic leading the league in scoring at 34.4 points per game, Worthy believes that if they want to take the next step, Redick must create consistency within the team and create an identity. The Lakers are currently ranked 15th, 16th, 18th, 20th in defensive efficiency, according to Byron Scott. Despite this, the team's defense isn't strong, nor is Austin Reaves' strong. Worthy also highlighted the need for consistency in the team’s defensive principles.
