Jets land Chargers QB Justin Herbert in absurd trade proposal

New York has the draft capital to pull off a trade for a high-profile QB. The New York Jets are seeking a new franchise quarterback, specifically for Los Angeles Chargers star Justin Herbert. Spotrac managing editor Mike Ginnitti suggested that the Jets could acquire Herbert before the NFL trade deadline on Nov. 10. The Jets currently own picks No. 7, No. 10 and No. 12 in the 2027 NFL Draft, could send one of these selections to the Chargers in a trade package for Herbert, whose deal runs through 2029 and has $162.5M in cash remaining. However, a trade for Herbert remains highly unlikely as Herbert has a full no-trade clause in his contract, which he must waive to go elsewhere. If he does request a trade, the Minnesota Vikings are a logical destination.
