Elvra graduated from USC in 2005 and has degrees in Political Science and Law & Society. While studying at USC, she worked with award-winning TV host Steve Harvey and his manager Rushion McDonald, starting the Steve Harvey Radio Network and helping him expand his brand in Atlanta. This experience led to her writing eight books, some which she has ghost written for her celebrity clients. She has been recognized by Fox, Univision, Telemundo, Success Magazine, Forbes Magazine, and Inc. Magazine for her contributions to the entertainment industry.

USC Alumni Elvira Guzman-Barnett’s books will be sold at the USC bookstore beginning Friday April 5, 2024

The legendary USC bookstore has decided to sell four of Elvira’s books. She graduated from USC in 2005 and has degrees in Political Science and Law & Society. While getting her degrees at USC she worked with award-winning TV host and comedian, Steve Harvey.

After graduating from USC Elvira moved to New York to help Steve and his manager Rushion McDonald start the Steve Harvey Radio Network. A few years later, she moved to Atlanta to help Steve expand his brand and she helped him write his debut book “Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man.”

It was this experience that showed Elvira she had a gift for writing books. This led to her writing eight books to date, including a few that she has ghost written for her celebrity clients.

Elvira has been speaking to motivate and inspire students for the last 20 years and she regularly speak at USC, UCLA & Loyola Marymount.

Her goal is to encourage every person that is thinking about writing a book to actually do it, instead of feeling fear and doubt.

Elvira has been recognized by Fox, Univision, Telemundo, Success Magazine, Forbes Magazine, and Inc. Magazine for her contribution in the entertainment industry. She has been featured in Latina Magazine and is considered one of “The Future 15 Latino Entrepreneurs”.
