The earthquake occurred near the site of the Taiwan earthquake, which caused a significant shake that shook the bed and the floor. The author describes feeling a vibrational type of shake, which was short compared to other earthquakes and caused items on shelves to vibrate. Other earthquake experiences included a car rocking from side to side, with the wind blowing the car around, and a 4.5 earthquake in Magalia, California. It was weak shaking, but I've experienced earthquakes before and known the difference between that and say, dizziness. I immediately called my mom, because it was obvious this was not normal. She was busy moving about an hadn't noticed. She lives 5 housed down the street from me. I googled it and saw that 37 miles away, in Magalia, there was a 4.5 earthquake. I knew it.
