FORTITUDE-101 and FORTITUDE-102 at ESMO 2026: Bemarituzumab Efficacy by FGFR2 Amplification Status in Gastric and GEJ Cancer / cancer, cancer care, Cancer At the ESMO Congress 2026, Zev A. Wainberg presented an exploratory biomarker analysis from the Phase III FORTITUDE-101 and FORTITDE-102 trials, which assessed the association between FGFR2 amplification and bemarituzumab efficacy in patients with advanced gastric or gastroesophageal junction (GC/GEJ) cancer. The analysis, presented as Rapid Oral abstract 2883RO, examined FGFR 2 amplification, FGFR3 protein expression, and survival outcomes. Bemarituzummab, a monoclonal antibody targeting FGFRBb, was evaluated in the Phase II FORTITuDE-103 and FORNOTUDE102 studies in patients who had FGFR1 amplification. The findings support further evaluation of FGFRFR2 as a potential biomarker for enhanced sensitivity to FGFR FR2 therapies.
