Sticking with classic fashion cues, Deschanel brought her “Twee” sense of style to the red carpet in a pair of satin black buckle-adorned pumps. The shiny buckles sat atop each toe of the satin shoes and were comprised of ornate jewels set in the shape of a square.
Additionally, Deschanel’s shoes featured pointed toes and 1 to 2-inch stiletto heels, providing the thespian a subtle and walkable boost in height. Buckle detailing has been cropping up on a plethora of footwear styles as of late. The glamorous technique has been famously utilized by top brands like SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker and Manolo Blahnik. Adding buckle detailing, sparkling or otherwise, can offer the silhouette a grungy touch, contrasting the often dainty and feminine nature of a heel.
Mirroring the color scheme of her footwear, the “(500) Days of Summer” star was styled in a vintage 1966 Betsey Johnson sequin sweater dress sourced from vintage retailer Timeless Vixen. The long-sleeve mini dress was black and white striped and was layered overtop black sheer tights.
